Replacement for my 20 year old 8100
The motor eventually seized up after 20 years of running 24/7 every winter. I decided it would be only a little more expensive to replace the entire unit, since I needed a new filter as well. The new 8100 fit on the old wall bracket, and I reconnected the ducts (with some new dampers since the original installer did not put any dampers on the ducts). I am very happy with the product, no shipping damage, and the new 8100 runs great! Just what I needed. It was a simple DIY install for this homeowner!

Aprilaire 8100 works great
I have ordered a number of the Aprilaire 8100 ERVs and they have worked very well. I have yet to receive a single one that is not dented or have some kind of aesthetic damage. Unfortunately I order them as I need them and do not have time to return them, wait for and install a new one that would arrive damaged in some way anyway. So I have had to offer my customers a discount to keep the installed and damaged one. There is no possible way that I am the only one this happens to. Very frustrating. Very disappointing.
