Yes you can Samuel, A couple of years ago while running short of "Uponor" 1/2" Pex tubing, I bought from Home Depot a 10ft length of Shark Bite to finish the job. It works perfectly. (I prefer the Uponor brand, it is more flexible and looks better) Glad I can help. Gilbert Baures. Portland Oregon.
As long as it's 1/2" pex pipe you can. The brand should not matter. Jay Clark
Yes all PEX tubing is universal. Doesn't matter what the name brand is.
Q: I'm replacing 1" copper heating pipes with 1" pex. If I use these fittings will they restrict the water flow too much?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffPEX tubing has a smaller inside diameter than copper, but it can often make up for any flow reductions because of the smoothness of the pipe and the fact that fewer fittings are normally required. A few fittings here and there likely would not have any noticeable impact on flow, but we would advise that you take advantage of PEX's flexibility and avoid fittings whenever you can.
Will have little effect if any, look at Bernoulli's equation Small restriction will have fast velocity.
I am not a plumber, just a DIY guy. I have never noticed any change in flow between 1" copper versus 1" Pex; they should flow about the same if both 1", thanks - Ed

Q: Will this fitting work with Pex-Al-Pex tubing or do I have to use something different? If so, what type of fitting is it and what type of tool is required to fasten?
