Useful Tool
I needed to add a hot water heater to my house, so I ordered Aquapex pipe and a bunch of Sharkbite fittings. This was my first experience using Sharkbite fittings, so I also ordered the Sharkbite Depth Guage / Deburr tool. One tool performs two functions. Use depth gauge to draw a pencil line on outside of PEX pipe. This line shows how far pipe should be pushed into Sharkbite fitting. The Deburr feature makes outside edge of pipe, at end where pipe was cut, smooth so it will slide into Sharkbite fitting. I really did not want to spend the extra money for this tool, but it saved me time, and I could instantly see when PEX pipe was completely installed inside Sharkbite fitting. After putting together 14 Sharkbite connections, there were NO leaks. You have to push hard to get pipe all the way in a Sharkbite fitting, so it is important to know when pipe is all the way in.

It does not do it job removing the copper burr caused by the pipe copper.

Deburrs the outside edge and serves as a good guide for the depth of insertion into a push-fitting. Note this product does not deburr the inside of pipe.

Great tool for gaging and deburring
I ordered this Sharkbite Deburr & Guage Tool from Supplyhouse to use for installing a 1 inch Sharkbite Ball Valve on PEX Piping. This tool made it easy to mark the PEX Pipe to insure proper insertion depth. I also used it to clean the edges of the PEX piping before inserting the ball valve.
