I had a boiler mechanic out to make a repair on my home boiler. He said it was the the control board was bad and made a replaced the part. The part and labor cost me over $600. and still the boiler was not working properly. I decided to trouble shoot the problem myself and found that three of the zone control valves had bad end control switches (limit switches). I got on line and to order the part and came across PexSupply. Your price was great and I ordered the Honeywell replacement head. Your price was very good and the online process was easy. I will be buying more supplies in the future as needed. Oh by the way, the boiler mechanic will not be returning to my home. I know more than he does now about the system.

Comments about Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves:

It installs easily and works fine. Only disappointment was I learned from the instruction sheet that the device requires a conversion kit for older type valves. Fortunately, mine did not require that. But I would have preferred to confirm that before I had ordered it.

Comments about Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves:

We installed a new boiler and added a water heater as a separate zone, controlled by the Honeywell zone valve. I highly recommend Supply House for the quick turn around time on delivery.

Save some dough?

By Jim the Chemist

Comments about Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves:

When one of my heating zones valves started to act up (and tapping it with a hammer no longer helped) I was forced to look into replacing it. The $200 call to a plumber to unclog a drain left a sour taste in my mouth so I decided to try my hand at. Equipped with a youtube video, I searched on-line and traveled to a local supply house. They wanted to charge me 2x what supplyhouse.com was charging. Case closed.

Comments about Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves:

Very simple fix for zone heating issue. After isolating the problem to the valve head, the replacement was made. Good price and could purchase the head separate from the valve.

replacement head for zone valve

Comments about Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves:

I wasn't sure if this would be a direct replacement or not for the original zone valve head that ceased to function. As it turned out, this valve head went on with no problem and, to date, is working flawlessly.

Fixed the Zone!

Comments about Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves:

This Powerhead was delivered fast, and was a straight forward replacement. Took a picture of the original wiring before making the switch, although I could have figured it out based on the other zone valve. I have two zones in my home, which we have lived in for 19 years. This part replaced one that had been with the house since we moved in. Hard to complain about that kind of reliability from Honeywell, given the environment in which it functions. A quick life calculation suggests the last unit endured about +150K Cycles.

  • Replacement Head for V8043F Zone Valves

    Q:

How do I determine whether I have the old style valve or new? The current zone powerhead has V804F 1036 24V 50/60cy .32 amp @60CY stamped on one end of the unit. Also 4 encircled. No actual label.

I'm trying to figure out if I need the conversion kit.

      A:

V804F is the new style powerhead. You do not need a conversion kit. There will be two screws holding the powerhead to the valve instead of two.

Is there a replacement head for use with old style valve body?

      A:

If you mean the wires, motor and cover, that is what this is. The actual
valve stays connected to the pipe and is not replaced and the water doesn't
need to be shutoff to install this item. I can't answer your question if it
      is not for the V8043F.

      Hi,
Yes there is a replacement head for use with the old style valve body; this is aV8043E valve.
I would suggest that you use a powerhead conversion kit for the V8043E valve and convert the old style body to the new style. It then becomes much simpler to replace the powerhead. The valve mechanism is connected to the old style powerhead and you will have water all over the place when you replace the powerhead.
The conversion kit seperates the valve from the powerhead and once you have installed the conversion kit you only have to remove two screws to replace the powerhead and you won't get wet. I have installed conversion kits in all my old valves.
      The conversion kit is: 40003918-006/U
The Powerhead assembly is: 40003916-048/U and this is for the newer style V8043F valve and is used with the conversion kit
      The Powerhead assembly for a V8043E (old style) zone valve is 40003916-026;
      good luck

Yes, the motor is included in the box. The motor is also available by itself and can easily be replaced. Replacing the motor works if the mechanism is not jammed.

Yes. Just connect the wires and you're good to go. Just be sure you order
the correct size for pipe diameter and remember to connect the wires in the
proper order. My wires coming off the control unit were all brown so I
labeled each one with the color they were attached to.
      Good. Luck!

The silver box on top, with the electrical connections, is the 'motor'.
They call it the actuator. You can replace that part of thewhole thing
without replacing the actual pipe underneath it - in other words you do
not need to shut off the plumbing or anything like that.
Study the Honeywell website and read it carefully. It will help you
      understand.
If you need just the head (motor), see the following which is on the same
      web page.

Yes, the motor is inside of the box, just be sure to properly align the male fitting on the new unit into the panel insert behind the existing valve; labeling the connections before removal will save hours.
