The 510 is a microprocessor-based thermostat intended for one stage heating applications that require a slab sensor. The 510 allows for up to two auxiliary sensors. The auxiliary sensors can be used to measure air temperature to get an average temperature for large areas. The auxiliary sensors can be used to measure slab temperature in order to limit the minimum and / or maximum allowed slab temperature. Or the auxiliary sensors can be used to display the outdoor temperature and / or a remote temperature.

quality thermostat
This thermostat is programmable and will probably suit any scenario. You may need to have a 14 year old standing by to help program it. We bought 2 and are using them for our radiant floor system so it senses the air and floor temperature. We also connected an extra sensor to it to check the outside temperature.
Tom, in customer service was very helpful in determining that this was the thermostat that would suit our needs.
Finally our cat loves the packing paper. We fluff it up on the floor and it is like she is hunting on the Serengeti. She would give the packing 5 stars.

Good Thermostat (all bells and whistles)
I use one (1) of these to control all the hydronic floor heat in my 1900 square ft home.
Wiring it is easy. (you need 4 wire and a power source(transformer))
Early start up function.
And it keeps track of trends in calls for heat to help with short cycling.
It keeps my right at the set point. Anticipates temperature changes etc. Awesome

Q: How is the slab sensor usually installed? Does that have to be 'drilled' into the concrete slab or is it a different installation altogether? Also, I am currently using a Honeywell rth6300b1005 thermostat. Will this unit work well as a replacement?

Usually installed before floor is poured if new construction in-floor heat. Sensor installed inside poly pipe and tied to rebar in center of floor, typically. Sent from my iPhone***.****BBM

Q: how do you set dip switch, not a lot of set up info can i find that on line trying to set room and slab temps only, shows room and outside air temp don't have outside probe. Thanks
