Direct replacement worked well
Swapping out the burners was easy and straightforward. I would recommend getting the three tubing nuts snug, then bend/gather the tubes together so they fit in the metal cover. Then give each one a final tightening. You can check your connections by spraying a windex/liquid dishsoap solution on them and watch for bubbles.

I would buy this product again
The burner unit I ordered came very quickly. I watched how to install it on youtube and installed it. And saved $1000 bucks buy not replacing the whole water heater.
