It did the trick
I use the Vertex in my vaction home in New Mexico. My home is at 6,000 ft. and the heater was constantly cycling. AO Smith customer service said a high altitude heater was not required at this elevation. PEX Supply came to the rescue, and recommended this switch for my elevation. It now goes on and off correctly. No more error code 16
