Conservationist Power Vent has a solid state ignition surface that does not flutter or blow out. Provides increased reliability and efficiency over spark ignition systems. Eliminates the pilot and saves energy. Air is precisely drawn through the combustion control port and exhausted through plastic pipe. Controlling the airflow through the heater enhances and regulates the combustion process. In standby mode, the combustion control port restricts air circulation through the heater. BTF-80 uses up to 76,000 BTU/h of gas to deliver 74 GPH at 100 rise. A. O. Smith offers the largest commercial product selection available, including the most specified commercial unit in the U.S. We offer more than 500 different commercial models, including gas fired, oil-fired and electric configurations, ranging in capacities from 5 to 10,000 gallons, with input range from 50,000 BTU to the equivalent of 4,000,000 BTU. Our comprehensive line is the natural fit for spec jobs requiring everything from the smallest commercial installation up to the largest multi-structure complex.

    Q: Is this water heater similar to an old model AO smith promax fpsh 75 ?

    Those units are very similar. BTF-80 is considered a commercial unit, while FPSH-75 was considered residential. They are both power vented units with similar capacities and BTU inputs.

    This unit has the Intellivent control, which should be adjustable to 180 °F.
