Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThe manufacturer recommends selecting an indoor location for this unit. The location should be as close as practical to the water piping system as possible. The water heater should be located in an area not subject to freezing temperatures.
Q: can you tell me what the difference is between the (ECLN 40) vs the (ECL 50) other than the gallonage?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe gallonage for the ECLN 40 and ECL 50 are different, as well as the R Value which is 16 for the ECL 50 and 12 for the ECLN 40. The dimensions and weight also vary. No Difference, very satisfied.
I don't know. I just have the ECL50 and I am happy with it, never had an issue since the installation, it's running smoothly. I can't compare with ECLN40 becaue I never owned one (previous water tank was a different 30G brand), sorry I can't be of much help.
