So, its tough to see from the above display pic, but this handle has a hook at the end to catch the actual trip lever on the Flushmate 3 (503) tank apparatus. The hook should dip DOWN, and then the rod terminates UP. The one sent to me, although the package said Left Hand and had the correct part number for my application, had the hook going up, and then terminating down. No way would it catch properly to trigger the flush. I can't say it was really a right hand version either, as that would have made the external handle part mount upside down..... This part was simply bent up wrong at the factory. Of course, as my luck would have it, the job was remote and the toilet needed to be working. So I had no choice but to bent and twist the lever until it would function. I had no time for another return/replace. I'm just telling you guys to be wary......and no way this was a fault of SupplyHouse, but a problem with American Standard itself.
