Isolation Relay for Up to 3 Zones

Went back n forth whether to switch from Argo ARM to a Taco controller as 2 of these cost about the same as a 6 zone Taco. But the Argo has been good. These IR's do the job, get power to the smart thermostat without hassle.

My 4-zone boiler contrller board, circa 1995, has 2 basic problems preventing switch over of our 3 area heat zones to use Nest (or similar) smart thermostat... 1. No Common "C" terminal Just R (24V) and W (Call for heat) 2. Underpowered 24VAC transformer (20VA) is only sufficient for activating all onboard relays This Argo board totally solves the problem. It uses an external 24VAC transformer (you can buy 40VA rated transfomer as part of the package). Each of 3 thermostat feeds has R/W/C allowing 3-wire cable to thermostats. Or if replacing a 2 wire is difficult, all smart providers offer a low cost Power Connector device that maps the 3-terminals into the 2 wire cable with assured power needed by thermostat. Either way, you NEED this Argo extender to enure enough power for mulitple thermostats.

Smart thermostats require power to operate and piggybacking on the existing Zone Valve Controller can result in insufficient power to adequately operate Taco Valves. This device is made to work with Argus Industries Zone Valve Controllers and eliminates the need to build out your own board with isolation relays.

I used this product as a relay that it's between a NEST thermostat and steam boiler. This is the only way to connect to a steam boiler as per the manufacturer. It was recommended by them. I did buy another one.

Easy to install, and stopped "chatter" from control board. Works with 3 nest thermostats and does what is promised. Tip: fully charge nests for 24-48 hours before install.

Fixed another Nest issue (and the chattering relay that I didn't know this was the cause of) after adding one to a heating-only zone. SUPER FAST shipping from supply house!
