Correct, The gauge thread is 1/4" male NPT
I’m a lousy judge of thread size/types, but I’d guess you are correct.
It is a 3/8" male NPT thread. So it is the 3/4" hose bib to 3/8" female on the adapter. The guage has a male 3/8" NPT thread as well to accept the connector. I have this item on my boiler and it comes with the guage and adapter.
The hose bibb is where you would normally connect a hose, typically located outside.
Traditionally, hose bibs are found outside the home...it is where garden hoses are connected. They are also found as drains for things like hot water heaters, well expansion tank drains etc..
You can connect it to the outside faucet or the drain in the hot water heater. These would be the two most common places. You could have more in the home like the water hooks for the laundry or if a plumber has installed a connection some where else. Hope this helps.
A hose bib is a threaded faucet also known as a wall hydrant. These are generally located on the exterior of the house but can be found on the interior. This gauge would fit any faucet that you can connect a garden hose to.
A hose bib is any point that you could attach a hose. An outdoor faucet or washing machine faucet are examples.
The hose bib is the section of the outdoor faucet that is threaded. This is where you would attach a garden hose. If the instructions are refering to attaching the pressure guage to a heating system then you would find a boiler drain that has this type of thread at the end of it. Boiler drains come in a variety of styles but will have a handle to shut off the water before the section where you attach a hose or guage (hosebib).
You can screw the gauge where your green outside garden hose screws into, or any other locations. Sent from my iPhone
The gauge is outfitted with a standard hose fitting (as opposed to pipe threading), meaning it will screw on wherever you would generally attach a garden hose (ie. outdoor water spigot or water heater drain bib).
