Happy Independence Day!

This is the second one I've purchased. I won't know how the first one worked until I take it out. At that time, I will find out if this one fits. Funny thing about these rods: If they get completely destroyed, then they worked well. I will probably wait till February to change it out. That will be two years.

Fair price, easy to install
10-year old anode was completely deteriorated. The product was a perfect match, and went in without undue difficulty.

Happy customer
I replaced the original magnesium rod, after 6+ years of use, with an aluminum rod. That was a big mistake. A few months after installing the alloy rod, water started coming out rusty. Yes, rusty.
Not making the same mistake again, I purchased an OEM magnesium rod from Supplyhouse.com. Problem solved. No more rusty water.
Attached image is the alloy rod after 16+ months of use, and the original magnesium rod on the right after 6+ years of use.

Does its job perfectly
This is my second time replacing the anode rod in my gas water heater, and since it hasn't given up yet, the anode rods must be doing their jobs. Because mine screws in from the top though, this one barely fit between the water heater and the ceiling. Next time I buy one it will need to be jointed so it fits better. This would be a good product if you have plenty of head room.
