Zinc/Aluminum Anode Rod, 415-49560-10

I tried to cancel this order 5 minutes after I placed it and was not able to.

Just built a new house and changed out the well pump. The well water started smelling like sulphur. Flushed out the hot water rank and Changed the anode rod to an aluminum one and the problem cleared up. Would buy from Supply House again! They had what I needed, delivery was quick, the price was good and the problem is fixed!

The anode was 8 inches too long, see the picture comparing to used up anode. Cutting off to match original size was not big deal. It resolved bad smell due to sulfur bacteria.

When I ordered this replacement anode rod it was to replace the one in my 4 month old hot water heater due to the smell the original rod caused due to it being made from magnesium. It interacted with my well water causing the rotten egg smell. When the plumber showed up I had the rod ready to go until he called me back to the basement and showed the difference in the length. When I ordered the new anode rod I gave the name and model of the hot water heater but it turned out to be about 6 inches too long so I said let's see if we could cut it to match the original one. Luckily for me the plumber was able to cut it to fit and most importantly it stopped the horrible smell. I would think that when you give someone all of the information off of the original hot water heater they would be able to send out the correct product and that it would fit properly without having to cut it.

good price and I had a helper to install it. I bot all the suggested extras. My helper told me that everything needed was with the tank. I hung on to the extras, thinking thre might be a refund on those. The box is still on the floor next to my computer. We had to open the box to find out what we did not need.
