Poor instructions that assume you have already installed one
The unit seems OK now I figured out how to make the basic install. I totally disassembled the thermostat because there was no clear indication or instruction on how to get just the base off. Then I could find absolutely no indication of polarity for the batteries to be installed, I assumed the "big spring" is negative and that worked, but there are no markings on the T-stat anywhere that I could find, although the instructions say so. Like so many items, if the manufacturer had just simply tried to do an install with their own instructions these issues would have been identified and cold have been corrected in the instructions.
The programming of the thermostat seems fine and I found no problems with that, at least as far as a single stage hydronic heating system.
As far as the recommendations "bottom line" below, I don't recommend anything to anyone; if they ask my experiences, I tell them. This is an ill-posed questions w/o the possibility of a "NA" response.

Most affordable Remote Thermostat on the market
It does exactly what you want it to. Taking a star away ONLY because pairing was a confusing process even with very good instructions in the manual. After trying 6 or 7 times I finally got it. BUT it was frustrating after ending up crossing my green and red in the process, burning out my 3amp fuse... After you get it to work. It's awesome & performs wonderfully. I am told that the Control Module emits a notable sound if you have young ears passing by in a hallway.
