The 688 was great. This new design looks terrible, as it exposes the view of the cutout. Broan, please go back to the old design. It was much better.

Why stop making something that works
This model replaced the popular 688 and the new version extends below the drywall and has a stupid cover that exposes the housing and raw drawall edges where the 688 cover was flat against the ceiling. . Whoever did this obviously knows nothing about houses.
