Garage/Workshop Portable Unit Heater (240V - 4000W)

Works ok

I put it in my workshop

I use this heater in a 580 sq ft crawl space under my house to keep the water lines from freezing. With the thermostat dial turned all the way down, it does a great job of keeping this space at around 45 degrees.

I didn't expect much, but this little heater really puts out the heat, had no problem heating my small 20x20 garage. Thermostat works great and overall the unit seems very high quality, well constructed.

Installation couldn't have been easier and the unit did the job I needed it to do.

I bought this just as a backup unit for my garage with 10' ceilings. My primary heat is in floor radiant set at 50F and I just bump my separated combustion propane heater up when I go in to work. I would not use this heater as a primary unit in a dusty or paint fume environment. It really needs a larger housing with pre-filter and totally enclosed motor to use in a hobby garage. This is not professional grade nor is it priced as commercial grade. It's just a little heater that kicks out fast heat on demand. Since I have it overhead I cannot reach the thermostat, so it is set around 40F for freeze protection and it is pointed towards my plumbing and expansion tank area. Keep in mind this is 220V using an A/C style plug. It gets about 500 degrees Fahrenheit at the element so the little housing needs space around it! For the price it fit my needs, but if reasonably priced better units were available with a remote control I would have purchased one of those.

Only had it for a couple weeks, so far its working ok.
