Edge Programmables due fail_$400. to replace
As others have said, they fail.
At over 3 times the cost of a simple April Air they should last more than 5 or 6 years.

Not a good choice!!! I HATE this thing!!!
This unit was installed with my new A/C Carrier unit. It is not very reliable; I do not like touch screen products because they seem to die out. Well, low and behold, on a 100 degree, humid day in Arizona I woke up to the unit blacked out and my A/C not working (3 years after installation and still under warranty). Of course, the warranty is a battle in itself and I am told I have to go without A/C for a week before someone can come out and look at my problem; that's not even getting it fixed yet!!!

State of the art? Can't even read the current temperature!
We have had 4 of these units installed with our current church construction. None of them can sense the temperature accurately, and fluctuates by as much as 6 degrees on both sides of the actual, infrared-measured temperature at the thermostat. As a result, cooling this summer has been a disaster, to say the least, as one day it will feel fine inside the building, another day will be hot and muggy, with no air running since it believes it to be at the desired temperature, and another day it will have cooled it well below the desired (and programmed) temperature. That coupled with the installers' inability to instruct us how to program (and learning by reading the manual over and over and trial by error) has essentially made these units that which we will replace soon. Two are already gone, and the other two are on their way out.
