The VB-222 vacuum breaker valve is designed to prevent dangerous back-siphonage and backflow into a potable water supply system. It automatically self-drains when all attachments are removed completely from the valve’s outlet which protects the valve and faucet from freezing and rupturing in cold weather. Constructed with brass body and adapter, Buna O-ring and seat disc, steel set screw, stainless steel springs and the highest quality molded parts.
Application:
For use around homes, schools, commercial buildings, laboratories or any application involving a removable hose attached to threaded faucets.

I would buy the Vacuum Breaker again
These 3/4" NH BFP VB-222 Self-Draining Vacuum Breaker w/ Lock Screw (Lead Free) are hard to find at plumbing supply's and Hardware stores. Great to be able to get at SupplyHouse.com.

I bought this because the city did a inpection and said this part was required for outside hose bibs. I just screwed them on with plumbing tape and it stopped one of them from leaking! Great product! Great price! Fast shipping! This saved me a lot of work and a expensive ticket. Thank you!!

The VB-222 automatically self-drains when all attachments are removed completely from the valve’s outlet which protects the valve and faucet from freezing and rupturing in cold weather. The V-3 is equipped with a protruding tip device for manual draining of faucet (after hose removal) which prevents freezing. Both are suitable for outdoor use.
