13/14 Series Cartridge Assembly, RP19804

25 year-old Delta 1400 shower cartridge developed a constant drip, so I replaced the original with an OEM part. These things are pricey for what you get, but the old adage of "pay me now or pay me later" applies here. The replacement was somewhat challenging, considering the original cartridge was held firmly in place by 25 years of mineralization, so it took way longer than anticipated, but it's done. I had to drill through the set screw for the handle to even start the replacement process, so I replaced the entire handle assembly with a new OEM one. We have a tub with the same valve assembly, so I purchased a second cartridge, as I'm sure it's demise is right around the corner. I purchased a spare OEM bonnet nut just in case.

Works great, do not buy the Generic....have gone through several which failed in less than a month, Delta brand solved the issue, installed much easier, and operates much more smoothly as well.

Only buy the OEM cartridges. Some off- brand copies don't work.

this cartridge is compatible with the "delta monitor 13-14 series" valve, not merely the "13-14 series" as labeled. The newer multichoice valve, with which this product is often confused, is also a "13-14 series" valve, so it's important to distinguish between them correctly.
