TOUGHSYSTEM 25-1/2" Workshop Racking Storage System

I bought two of these Toughsystem racks for my home workshop. Each rack has two horizontal support beams (one near the top and another near the bottom. The left and right rails slide through each horizontal support. Each horizontal support has multiple slots to make it easier to align wall fasteners with the studs. There are two addition brackets included for extra support near the middle of each vertical rail. I mounted these in my home workshop which has 1/2 drywall secured to the studs. To make things easier to mount without worrying about lining each rack up so I could hit the studs, I cut three 2x4's at 53 inches each and secured them to the studs using 3 inch deck screws (2 screws in each 2x4 for each stud). Placed one near the top and bottom to line up with the horizontal supports included with the system. The third 2x4 was secured midway between the top and bottom supports (about 56" from the floor). I placed both rack system next to each other and secured them to the 2x4s using 1/4 3" lag screws through the supports into the 2x4s. This was especially helpful when securing the adjustable center supports since I didn't have to line them up with the studs. Both racks are also secured to my floor using 4 3" lag screws for each rack. Both racks are full with toughsystem 1.0 and 2.0 tool boxes. I used a few adapters to attach organizers to my two drawer boxes as well.
