Exactlly what I wanted
What can you say about a brass nipple. Well, for one, it is stronger and less fragile than I expected. I used it to fabricate a replacement for an oil drain on a vacuum pump. The original drain was hard to reach and difficult to operate. With this extension, it made the process of draining much easier.

treads were shaved off on one side
two of the 3 1" x 12" long brass threaded nipples i received were damaged. As iff the threads were shaved off for the first half of the threads on one side. Didn't have time to buy new parts so we put it together anyway and hoped for the best. I will be leery of ordering in the future.

Great experience with Everflow brass pipe fittings
I've stopped using Chinese brass pipe fittings due to problems with joint sealing. I've have great luck with the Everflow fittings. The price premium has been worth avoiding call-backs due to weeping joints.
