Description

GEA Flat Plate's FP series of Heat Exchangers is designed for hydronic heating, snowmelt (glycol), potable hot water, various industrial processes and other uses where an efficient, reliable and compact fluid-fluid heat exchanger is required. These heat exchangers are 100% factory tested, are made of stainless steel, and have heavy duty male pipe thread connections, and mounting studs come standard. The heat exchangers are UL and CRN listed.

The FP Series is designed for a wide variety of fluid to fluid applications requiring exacting heat transfer performance. Hydronic Applications include:
  • Domestic Water Heating
  • Snow Melt Systems
  • Radiant Floor Systems
  • Cooling Tower Interface
  • High Pressure to Low Pressure Isolation
  • Glycol to Water
  • Close Approach Applications
  • Shell/Tube Replacements

Capable of 8F to 10F approach (std) to as low as 3F approach for the larger models. Totally sealed stainless steel construction, copper brazed with a high performance heat transfer surface to promote low fouling. From 1/2 to 200 gpm models, and larger sizes to 400 gpm. ALL models have MPT male pipe thread connections and mounting stud bolts. Rated at 450 psi working pressure, both sides. U.L. Listed, European TUV and optional ASME code construction. The FPN Series Heat Exchanger is similar, except that it is Nickel Brazed. The FPN is ideal for de-ionized water, solvents and other applications. Rated at 300 psi working pressure.

Q: Does the 8 GPM volumetric flow rate mean that the heat exchanger pumps the fluid itself at 8 GPM or does that mean it can handle a flow rate from a pump or another source at 8 GPM?

It means that it can handle a flow rate from a pump or another source at 8 GPM.
