GeneralAire 990-13 Vapor Pad (GFI #7002) is a replacement humidifier evaporator pad for specific GeneralAire whole-home humidifiers, used to evaporate water into the airstream and maintain indoor humidity.
Key Features:
- Model 990-13 Vapor Pad, GFI #7002
- Listed "Fits" group includes GeneralAire 1137, 1040, and 1042 Series, plus additional listed models
- Installation orientation note, insert with black mark on top
- Replacement guidance, replace every year, or 1-2 times per humidification season
Compatibility & Applications:
- Direct replacement media for GeneralAire models that specify 990-13.
- Designed for fan-assist and bypass humidifiers within the listed series.
Installation & Operation Notes:
- Install with the black mark oriented on top as indicated by the manufacturer.
- Follow the model-specific humidifier instructions for pad access and reassembly.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Do not wash the pad, washing removes the hydrophilic coating.
- Replace annually, or 1-2 times per season depending on water quality and use.

It's metal (both frame and grate). It is the original equipment filter, so it's the same as the filter that comes with the humidifier, if that's what you're buying it for. I hope that helps. - Peter
