4 Speed Blower Motor, 1/3 HP, B1340002S

The blower motor in my 28 year-old furnace had to be replaced due to worn bearings. I ordered this motor as it seemed to be an exact mechanical replacement. The new motor fit perfectly, and as a bonus is twice as efficient as the old motor. The old motor was rated 11 amps, the replacement motor is rated only 6 amps. (The new motor is equally powerful as the old motor, it just uses a more efficient design; PSC rather than shaded pole.) Equally important was the excellent web site - not only did the web site clearly indicate the price of the motor and free shipping but it indicated it was in stock and when it would arrive. The fact that the arrival time was clearly stated before I even placed the order is why I bought the motor from this vendor. Only two complaints: 1) The motor was supposed to arrive on a Tuesday and it did arrive on time on a Tuesday. However the on line status checking tool indicated that the order hadn't even been shipped as of 8pm Monday night. Fortunately, this was just a problem with the status checking tool and an e-mail I sent asking about the issue was promptly answered. 2) The new motor requires a 5 microfarad run capacitor that my old motor did not use. There was no mention of this requirement on the web site. Fortunately, I was able to buy this needed part locally for ~$5 and it did not delay the installation.
