These pumps are not worth rebuilding
I purchased a Grundfos Scala 2 pump from Supply house. It was in service for 16 months and it began to leak. I purchased all of the kits to rebuild (over $350) and rebuilt the pump. It stopped the leak 90%, which of course is not sufficient. I am confident the leak will worsen in short time. I have talked to a lot of people and done a lot of research; these pumps are prone failure in a relatively short period of time. I thought the pump should have been under warranty, but the factory warranty is only 2 years from date of manufacture. By the time I purchased the pump from Supply house it was already a year or more since it was manufactured. If you have one of these pumps, and it fails, do not bother rebuilding it. If you are thinking of buying one - DONT!!
