Useful product for a small large job
Used to duct a small inline exhaust fan, and keep the heated air from warming up the room the duct passes through. The insulation and jacket will easily slide back to expose the inner duct, so it's easy to get a hose clamp on it.
Some hard to find info if you need it-- add to the nominal (duct) diameter:
2.5" for R4,
4" for R6,
5" for R8. E.g., in my case, I used 6 inch R6 which has an O.D. of 10".

Quality products
This is decent quality flex duct. Unfortunately I was shipped the wrong size and had to ship it back to receive the correct size. Customer service took care of the return, but did delay a project I had planned. I like the ease of ordering and the prices and selection at supplyhouse.com.

Q: Can this be used on the suction side of an inline fan (such as Fantech FKD 8XL)? In other words, will it resist collapsing?

I'm not familiar with the Fantech FDK- 8XL but as long as long as it doesn't generate a vacuum it should work fine. Remember that the ducting contains a steel spiral wound wire which makes the ducting hard to collapse. The only condition that could create distortion would be if the intake side were blocked, otherwise the pressure would be equal on both sides of the exhaust fan. Rick

Verified Reply- Hart & CooleyThe silver jacket doesn't stretch and, in our opinion, has a higher tensile strength than a polyethylene jacket. These two factors may act to deter mice.
