Bought it again

Works as advertised. Had a couple of persistent, very small, wheeping leaks in a wood boiler/radiant floor heat installation. Disassembly was not a geat option, so I tried this stuff and within a day the 2 leaky joint sealed up! So I ordered some more and used it proactively when I filled a boiler>>no leaks. Doesn't seem to affect in line filters and mixing valves. Checked all in-line filters and the metering valv after 1 week and did no see any cloging of the screen nor any residue in the metering valve. >>> Good Stuff!

It Seems to Have Worked

My 30-year old in-floor hydronic heat system with plastic pipes sprung a small leak. Two wood floor boards discolored and started warping, and a section of marmoleum started coming up. We removed the flooring, and before digging into the gypcrete, decided to try Base Hit II Sealant. After a few days, there no longer appears to be a leak. We will observe a couple more weeks, and then replace the flooring.

Works in minutes~!

My 130 degree electric, hydronic in-floor heating system has operated flawlessly for over 16 years............until last week. One of the loops in zone 3 started slowly leaking. (about 4 psi. in 10 hours) The zones/loops are run with 1/2" PEX tubing poured into a concrete slab, which is usually very durable bullet-proof material. I think a worker on the crew got careless and damaged one of the loops with a shovel during installation. I repaired and wrapped the damaged line with electrical tape at the time and it held for years until now. I treated the entire system as per instructions, with Base Hit II, after a tip from a boiler tech. It is greatly emphasized that you follow the directions EXACTLY as it says. Do not over treat the system. It says 12 oz. for every 30 gallons, which is .4oz. per gallon. If this is not followed closely, you may have severe plugging issues. (I have a painters screen on the pump that fills the system and it plugged immediately. ) Believe me, 12oz. per 30 gal. is MORE than effective and all that is needed. If you have any fine, in-line screens or filters in your system, they will likely become plugged. You may have to remove them. My system has no screens and they are not necessary if you maintain a clean system in the first place. By running 50% Glycol with built in corrosion protection and filtering what you pump into the system, there is no need for in-line filters. The thing I like best about this product, is it works very fast and also improves automatic valve and pump function. I intend to maintain the system as recommended with this product from here on out. Thanks again for a fantastic product~!

This product actually works !

I have found that using one bottle for every 20 to 25 gallons with a minimum of two bottles seems to work very well, If the leak is small or is a micro leak. Sometimes you have a leak underground that you don't even know about if their micro leaks. Or in places that are difficult to solder. So I highly recommend this product

It works.

I had a frustrating leak in my hydronic system that I could not find and was sucking air. The gurgling in the upstair loop was non stop no matter how many times I purged the air from the system. With 1/3 of my copper tubing encased in conrete slab, finding the leak would be impossible. I removed the pressure relief valve located on the top of my boiler, poured less than one pint of Base hit II in, and installed a new pressure relief valve (always a good idea). I ran the system at its normal operating temp for a few hours and like magic, the gurgling began to subside. After one day, it was air free!

Worked like a charm

We have a house with infloor hydronic heat. On the second floor the pex-al-pex tubing is embedded in 1.5 inch of concrete. We had one tiny leak that we found on the first day of charging that loop. We found Base Hit II Sealant by accident, and to make a long story short - it WORKED as advertised and immediately. Thanks for a great product. Dick

According to the manufacturer, Base Hit should not be used for Methanol Brine systems, only Glycol based systems.
