Should be, if it is a 24 volt motor you will need a transformer, like for a doorbell Nick Duval, President City Wide Sheet Metal, Inc
Yes. If it is a 120 volt, spring return actuator then yes. Simply wire it like you would a light fixture. If it is a 24 volt, spring return actuator then you can still do it, but you'll need a 24 volt transformer. If it is modulating (3-wire) you'll have to do a bit of fancy wiring but it would still be do-able. John Easterling Mechanical Engineer Heliocentric
By "light switch" if you mean a 110 vac switch, the answer is no. The unit does not run on 110 vac directly. You need to use a step down transformer. If you wire the primary side of the transformer to the "light switch", the secondary side which is wired to the damper will open / close to follow the "light switch". Sent from my iPad
damper requires 24 vac power which can usually come from the appliance that damper is installed on. Or purchased separately.
Yes you must provide the proper power. Does not come with a transformer. Dusty Dickey via Blackberry Sercel, Inc.
Your system has 24vac control, right? So you don't need it...
Yes you need a low voltage transformer. Sent from my iPad
It will require a power supply. Could be AC or DC. Sent from my iPhone
You should not need to add a transformer. This damper operates on the nominal 24 volts that is the same as most thermostats. Your Furnace/AC unit should already have a transformer to supply 24 volts to the thermostat(s). You obtain the electrical feed for the damper from the 24 volt Jay Sent from my iPhone
Jerry, This damper comes with a 24vac motor which can be powered off the transformer off your hvac system. Randy Dunham
Jerry, I chose to do so so as not to overload the transformer in my furnace.
This damper is required to be connected to a control system, most control systems will have powered ports to run the damper. I hope this helps
The motor should be same on both dampers.
Travis, I do not have a 5" damper, but I can tell you that Damper Actuator (damper motor assembly) is the same on both the 6" and 8" Honeywell units. My guess is that they are the same (companies would rather produce one piece versus many). Hope this helps. Randy Dunham
It's the same motor for either size damper.
