TrueSTEAM Remote Kit is Upgraded with New Plastic
After 10+ years of service, my old remote kit's plastic remote nozzles (at both ends) fractured and caused steam to leak everywhere. What a mess. So I ordered this 10' kit last month and just installed it this weekend.
First thing to note was that both the humidifier adapter nozzle (that locks into the top of the steam generator) and the remote duct 'injector' nozzle (that attaches to the furnace plenum) are now both upgraded plastics! These new pieces are made of a much darker plastic...almost a dark charcoal grey...as compared to the OEM adapters that were a medium to light grey. I think Honeywell finally figured that their original light grey plastics weren't lasting very long and they FINALLY made the switch to a sturdier plastic. I'd get 2 seasons out of a tank and have to buy a new one. Not good at $45.00 / tank!
In fact, the new nozzles seem to be made out of the same plastic as the new large water tank (#50033181-001) that Honeywell is shipping for my HM512 TrueSTEAM humidifier. Unfortunately, I've gone through at least three tanks now, and this fourth tank (that I purchased from PEX in January) is now made of this new darker plastic and is holding up well. No leaks (so far.) But the proof will be seen in how long the plastic nozzles and the tank will last. Keeping my fingers crossed for at least 5 years for the tank, and 10+ for the nozzles.
That, and the new steam hose seems to have a thicker wall, and the insulation around the hose is now continuous...e.g., no slit cut in the insulating wrap to allow it to be wrapped around the inner heater hose. That's real nice, and will help retain the heat inside the hose better.
The installation yesterday went very well, and only took me about :30 minutes to accomplish. I also took the opportunity to clean the tank, and it is back up and running as I write this!

Way over priced for 3/4id Heater hose
Way over priced for 3/4id Goodyear Heater hose, some [$] insulation and two plastic fittings. However, That said it made for a clean installation and DO NOT try to make your own with some 3/4 pvc. Steam too hot for it. Don't ask.

Missing Item Quickly Corrected by PEXSup
My order of the TrueSTEAM remote mount kit shipped without one of the two required nozzles. Though it did delay my installation slightly, PEX Supply quickly sent me a replacement to correct the problem. I particularly appreciate that they called me back to let me know when it was on its way.
The kit itself is well constructed and really helps in situations where direct mounting is not convenient. My furnace/AC is crammed in a basement utility room, so while I could have mounted directly to the ductwork it would have been much more difficult. Mounting the steam generator on the wall 3 feet away makes for a significantly cleaner install and is well worth the cost for a professional end result. I did only use about 3 feet of hose and none of the mounting hardware, so it would actually be nice if there were an even shorter kit to save a bit more money.

Excellent for humidifier relocation
My heating/cooling unit is located in my attic. It's not recommended to mount the TruSTEAM humidifier in an attic. Honeywell thought of this. This is a perfect solution. High quality materials and great instructions.

Great accessory!
My electric HVAC is on a 2 story roof. My ductwork is in a drop ceiling. I could not have humidified my office without the remote kit. Easy to install. Humidifier itself is in easy reach on the wall.

Reply It has been a long time- I can not remember the inside diameter- but the hose is equivalent to a automobile radiator hose.

It is a Goodyear 3/4" heater hose.

I do not know the size but the hose is insulated and rated for extreme heat/ steam.I would not try to work around trying to use some other hose. I know I tried. If I were guessing I would say that the hose is about 5/8 id or 3/4 id.
