20" x 30" Return Grill Media Air Filter (MERV 13)

The standard 1" high efficiency air filters (3M) that I purchased from my local hardware store always worked well for filtering the air, but plugged up within 1mo during peak heating/cooling months (filter would be bowed inward). Plus I've always known they were fairly restrictive to the airflow... and it showed because two of my rooms barely got any airflow out of the vents. This 3" filter gives a higher surface area for the air to pull through, thus lowering restriction. And since it has 3" of depth - it should last (theoretically) up to 3x longer than a 1" filter. So while it may cost 2-3x more than a typical high efficiency 1" filter, you're actually paying about the same when you take into account replacement costs... AND you're helping your HVAC system run more efficiently - which lowers heating/cooling costs! Kudos to Honeywell for making such a good product - and another KUDOS for posting all the tech specs for a consumer to read up on! Many other brands aren't as transparent in their specs.

Of the three filters ordered, one arrived crushed and badly damaged. I immediately emailed supplyhouse.com letting them know, and a week later I had not heard back. I called and spoke to a representative, who arranged for a replacement filter. Unfortunately that too arrived crushed and badly damaged, in even worse shape than the first damaged filter, and the way that they had packaged it in the box looked very rushed and unprofessional. Again I emailed supplyhouse.com and again waited several days for a response, I never heard from them. I called and explained the replacement filter arrived damaged, they asked me to send photos which I had already sent in the email they never read, and forwarded them to the customer service agent. She explained I would need the ship the damaged filter back in order to get a replacement, which really irritated me. I asked for a supervisor who could override that, she said there wasn't one. I finally agreed, and then received an email indicating I wouldn't need to return the damaged filter. When the third replacement filter arrived, it was properly packaged in a heavy box and arrived in prristine condition. All is well that ends well, but I was disappointed with my experience and all of the time I had to spend on this. The company's motto is "real people, real service" , yet they couldn't even respond to my emails and didn't show much respect for my time.
