So much better than the older Honeywell steam model.

This installed fairly easily and it works like a champ. I love the fact that you replace the cannister when the sediment builds up too much instead of having to take it apart and scrub it clean. I have only had this running for a couple weeks but it has kept my house at a steady 35% humidity when needed. Hopefully it runs for many years.

Poor customer support

I've had this unit for 3 1/2 years and it just developed an issue with excessive cycling. I can understand something breaking down, but it's the poor customer service from Resideo Customer Support, the manufacturers of Honeywell Home products. They won't answer even simple questions from a homeowner, you have to hire a contractor to call them! Then when we ordered a part that is under the five-year warranty, they wouldn't provide a tracking number even though I paid extra for expedited shipping and it's been over three weeks now and the part still isn't here. In frustration, I ended up buying the part from another supplier at my own cost. So keep your fingers crossed that you don't need customer support.

I Love it

My house is 7,000 sqft and running on a boiler system. This steam humidifier is the only way and the Best way to add moisture to our house. One day setup and running 240 volt. We noticed an immediate difference of 25% humidity to 45% humidity overnight.

It works great!!

I have this installed on a central AC only system as I use RFH throughout most of the house. It works better than I expected. 35% humidity set point and 2 is the setting to protect my stained wood trim windows.

Works great, holds humidity at set point

Installation was not difficult. Unit runs silent. Home humidity is held at set point (currently 45% after trying a few different values).

I would buy this product again.

Replaced our old Honeywell unit with the HM750. The change out was straight forward. Love the new unit!

So far works quite well!

Purchased this to humidify a house that had two Honeywell's True Steam units (for two zones). Both failed after a few years. I agree with other reviewers that these newly designed units are far better. They have a greater potential to generate steam and controls again integrate with my existing Carrier Infinity thermostat/humidstat. I recently installed this one unit in the lower floor zone, wired to 240V, and, so far, it seems to cover the second-floor zone. Humidity does rise.

Great unit

Installed unit to replace a Honeywell truesteam unit. So Far unit has operated flawless, maintaining humid at 45% in a 2000 square foot house. This is a nice upgrade compared to the old true sream unit. The reason i bought this over a evaporation unit was the compact foot print. I didnt have room to adequately install a evaporation unit. The only negitive thing i have is the cost of the unit. It is kinda pricey compared to an evaporation unit. Overall though im satisfied with the quality and performance of unit.

Easier than a TruSteam

I've had many types of whole-house humidifiers. The least annoying ones use steam. That said, I owned 2 TruSteams prior to this and I had a love-hate relationship with them. The first one broke a lot and I ended up buying a lot of spare parts just in case. It died anyway. And it always needed cleaning thanks to my hard water. The second one was better, largely because they forced you to buy the expensive reverse osmosis unit with it, along with its expensive cartridges. So one day I had to remove it from my furnace so that I could have my AC replaced. Some of its plastic parts broke off for no reason. At that point I decided to discard the wretched thing and replace it with this new model, one that should love hard water and only need one part replaced every year. $90 for the part but no cleaning is ever required. The price is not that different from the reverse osmosis cartridges anyway. If you have a thermostat with a humidistat that turns the fan on whenever humidty is called for, this thing is incredibly easy to install. Two control wires is all it needs then. It can be installed on a wall or duct and the space requirements around the steam input hole seem quite tight, better than the TruSteam called for if I remember it correctly. All it needs is power (120VAC in my case - I have a small house, 240VAC if you want more), a water supply line, a drain hose and the steam hose. I decided to make a wood structure to hold it only because I wanted to leave 2 ft. of room for the steam hose, since it seemed VERY stiff, and I wanted to use the Trusteam hole in the duct. If I was confident that I could put sheet metal screws in the side of my furnace without damaging it, I would have done that and saved a lot of time. A taller piece of duct would have made it all much easier. But even then, this was remarkably easy. Done in a day. And it started up right away with no problems. I can see why they stopped making the TruSteam and went with this instead.

Vastly superior to their abyssmal earlier "TrueSteam" produc

Though not perfect (Honeywell, seriously...please get someone besides your engineering team to design the user interfaces for products like these), I'm so far pleased by this product. It appears to incorporate what Honeywell should have learned from their prior TrueSteam effort. They needed to make quite a few improvements! And it looks like they did. The replaceable cannister is a key one. Anyway the swap went well & I will update my review as I learn more. DO be sure to install with a controller (such as the one include) that will monitor outdoor temps and adjust the humidity levels automatically so you don't fog up your windows during a cold snap (potentially damaging them)
