My 16-year-old SYSTEM 2000 hot water storage tank finally started to leak, and this was almost a direct replacement. The only thing I had to do was get smaller blocks to put it on because the bottom inlet was higher up than the old one. Other than that it matched up perfectly. I would give it five stars but I'm only giving four because whenever they filled it with insulation, they didn't put the outside shell/cover on perfectly so everything is twisted a little bit clockwise as well as the hot water outlet on top is a little bent and not straight. Both my old and this new one was set at 120° and this water comes out way way scolding hotter now so probably more efficient as well!!

Ok but...
I had to replace my 20 year old System 2000 80 gallon tank quickly. I chose the John Wood because it was a narrow tank and would be delivered quickly. I opted to go down to a 40 because 80 was way too much for my family. Wasted alot of oil over the years to keep those 80 gallons hot. Anyway, installation was pretty simple and it works fine. I have one gripe, the T&P port is bent slightly downward so when the discharge pipe is screwed into the T&P, the pipe is against the tank. Longevity is the question. My original tank lasted 20 years so I must have good water, there was no anode rod in it but this tank has one so I hope to get as many years out of this tank.
