I had problems at first.
when I first ordered this Item, I got the package in a timely manner, but It wasn't the part I ordered so I got with support and they very quickly handled the situation and sent out the fitting I ordered.

Q: Will this work on 2 standard 1/4" NPT brass pipe ends, ie aren't the "flare" elements internal to the swivel/union?

I don't think you con put this directly onto a pipe end. the flared parts are on the tube between the two nuts on the part photographed. They have to be screwed onto male flares to seal.

NO -- These are just two flare nuts back to back on a very short piece of tubing -- sort of like a 1/4" female coupling. Will not fit NPT threads at all.
