58 Gallon APHWC501L Inverter Heat Pump Water Heater w/ Water Leak Detection & Demand Response Ready (3.8/5 kW, 208/240V)

The product was purchased to replace a standard electric 240-volt water heater. Supply house quickly shipped and delivered the product. I would purchase from them again.

It's an unusual unit. The square shape gives it stability, but it also prescribes your install a bit. As does the right side piping. Really great performance, though. Nice and quiet, too. A nice alternative to AO Smith and Rheem.

While this LG can be a bit hard to find, it's an excellent unit. The build quality, appearance, and performance is great. I have it set up for intake and exhaust venting. Some things to keep in mind: It's heavy and square. This means you'll likely need square drain pans, and it might not be quite as easy to stick into a space as a circular unit, which can be rotated to align pipes, etc, as you need. My application is VERY space limited. So it was pretty darn tricky.

Supplyhouse was the only vendor that would ship an Lg water heater to Hawaii. And the price was better than any other supplier.

If you want to save money in heating your water, this is the holy grail. It was installed easily by a plumber and after turning on the energy consumption moved up to 5kwh in 10 minutes. Since then, it has been on only after somebody showers and consumes about 2kwh for less than 10 minutes until it heats the new water. I left the heat pump mode only for testing. So far I've had no need to change to turbo or auto mode that heat the water with coils that are so energy consuming. Time will tell how long it lasts but so far I am more than satisfied with the little energy consumption to heat my water. Way better than gas. Be aware that this is a heat pump and needs to be inside your home in an open area to work efficiently (not a closet size room). It will lower the humidity and the temperature of the place where it is located. I installed it in the basement in an open area out of the machine room to divide from the radiant heat (I do not want the radiant heat running more often because the heat pump is stealing the heat). The heat pump is pretty so you can place it in a visible area with no problems just hiding the pipes. I am planning to install a wine cellar next to the split to take advantage of the colder temperature around it.
