Description

Liberty Pumps 283HV-3 is a cast iron Submersible Effluent/Sump Pump with High Voltage capability including a fully adjustable Wide-Angle Float with a Series Plug. It is recommended for pumping of drainage, effluent and waste water, and other non-corrosive, non-explosive liquids. The convenient piggy-back plug allows for manual operation without the removal of the pump.

Cast iron pump housing with protective epoxy coating for corrosion resistance
Oil-filled motor housing for lifetime lubrication and rapid heat dissipation
1/2 HP shaded pole motor with thermal overload protection
Stainless steel screws, bolts and handle to protect against corrosion
Mechanical seal (stainless steel spring, nitrile parts, carbon and ceramic faces) to assure maximum protection against pump failure
Upper and lower sintered sleeve bearings for extended motor life
Automatic operation with piggyback mechanical float switch with 'ON' level at 13" and 'OFF' level at 7" (pumping range is adjustable)

A great replacement for a Liberty 280
We purchased this pump when our Liberty 280 model pump failed in our septic system. The 280 model at SupplyHouse was backordered until Sept/Oct, but we needed it now! The only difference between the models is the piggy back float switch that the 283 comes with that the 280 does not have. We ordered this pump and super fast shipping (free) got it to us within 4 days. We just removed the float switch and installed the pump only, because our system uses separate, independent float switches to control the pump and alarm. Now we have a spare float too. We'll be ordering another one of these pumps to have on hand as a spare. Thanks for the easy order and fast shipping SupplyHouse!

Excellent pump
Needed to install a new pump for effluent use. Works great. only thing was the output pipe connection is 1-1/2" where my pipe was 2" so I needed to use an adapter. not sure if the pump is a psc motor but it is advertised as efficient which does not mean squat.

Great Pump, Great Supplier...
Bought this pump to replace one that was 24 years old and still working, just for peace of mind. Plus the 24 y.o. pump was getting a little noisy. This new Liberty 283 pump seems to be of very good quality and runs quietly. With regards to the SupplyHouse, I find their website easy to use, ordering is easy, and their deliveries have always been reliable. I will continue to buy products from them.
