A couple of years ago I installed a reused shower mixing valve on the supply line to a toilet in my summer cottage to eliminate a tank sweating problem. However that valve allowed hot water to migrate back into the cold water line serving the bathroom and kitchen sink. Running the "cold" water to clear out the hot was a nuisance. I installed one of these check valves on each of the cold and hot water supply lines to the mixing valve. Now the cold water stays cold and the hot water stays hot. I used spring loaded check valves rather than gravity swing checks because the water lines are sloped for draining in winter.
The price is right, the delivery was fast, and the product operates as described and solved my problem.

Pick Something Else
The spring and nut which are part of the spring check mechanism protrude into the pipe socket in one end of the valve, meaning that you cannot easily clean the brass for soldering, because the mechanism is in the way. It also makes applying flux to the socket without also getting it all over the check mechanism virtually impossible. The valve cannot be taken apart in a way which would allow one to reassemble it after soldering, so the seat, which is hard against the soldering socket at one end, takes the full heat of soldering, which means that the Buna seal can be damaged during soldering, even if one is very careful. Buy something else.
