Prevent damage ti Modulating Gas Valves
The original filter body comes with self tapping screws for cutting threads into the aluminum housing at the factory. Replace those self tapping screws with the ones in this replacement filter kit at the first removal of the cover. If you continue to use the self tapping screws you risk chewing up the threads in the aluminum housing.
Make sure there is a drip leg in the gas line before this filter.
You may be able to clean the oil off the gas valve screen by GENTLY using a Q-Tip and return the gas valve to service. This filter should prevent debris and oil from getting to the gas valve.
