Description

These rubber seat poppet type regulators are designed primarily for main burner and pilot load applications where precise control of tiny flows is an essential operating requirement.

Housings are of high strength aluminum die castings. All models, with the exception of D suffix models, have been tested for multipurpose mounting and may be installed in any plane or angle without restriction.

D suffix models are to be mounted horizontally. Other than normal upright position will result in slight difference of outlet pressure. They may be used with natural, manufactured, mixed, LP, or LP gas-air mixture.

Note: This product should be installed by a licensed gas fitter.

YES

There is a difference between the Maxitrol pilot line regulator for gas logs that I needed and the one that I selected. The regulator that I hoped to replace accepts a "bubble" flare with a tube nut to compress it. The regulator that I had hoped to replace has a "seat" that is at the bottom, or past the threads. Without this seat in the regulator you would have to cut the pilot tubing and use a different type of compression fitting that incorporates a ferule.

I would buy this part again if the fitting was different.

The part that I bought was a Maxitrol #RV12LT. It was going to be for the rebuild of a set of Desa gas logs. Desa has gone out of business. The part that I bought was identical to the part that I needed, a Maxitrol #RV12LTF, but critically different in that it didn't have the "Shoulder" at the bottom of the 1/8" connection treads. This shoulder allows for the compression of the tubing to the regulator without the use of a Ferrule or olive in the connection.
