- Designed to generate the ignition spark needed for burner lighting during each call for hot water
- Supplied as a replacement part matched to the mounting and connection style of the original component
- Built for use in sealed combustion water heater applications
Compatibility & Applications:
- Intended for use with Noritz N-0751M, N-0931M, and any additional models that list EMUJ004 in Noritz parts information
- Used when ignition-related error codes, failed burner lighting, or intermittent ignition are traced to a faulty ignitor
- Suitable for residential and light commercial Noritz tankless installations where these models are installed
Installation & Operation Notes:
- Disconnect electrical power and shut off gas supply to the water heater before servicing
- Follow Noritz service and installation instructions for accessing the burner compartment and removing the existing ignitor
- Install the new ignitor in the same position as the original, using the specified mounting hardware and gasket arrangements
- Route and connect wiring exactly as shown in Noritz documentation to maintain proper grounding and ignition circuit integrity
- After installation, restore power and gas, then run the heater through several hot water draws to verify consistent ignition and stable burner operation
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Inspect the ignitor during service visits if the heater shows ignition errors, failed startup, or frequent retries
- Replace the ignitor if there are visible cracks, heavy deposits, or damaged wiring
- If ignition issues persist after replacement, check gas supply, combustion air, venting, flame sensor operation, and control board diagnostics according to Noritz procedures

Fixed the problem!
My Noritz tankless water heater, which is 13 years old would sometimes send cold water along with the hot, then it finally quit heating altogether. When I turned on the hot water I could hear it start (fan) and smell the natural gas, then it would stop. (Thanks to whomever invented the thermocouple!). It would do this repeatedly so I thought it might be an ignition problem. I inspected and cleaned the ignition rods. They weren't corroded or dirty. I then thought it might be the igniter, so I ordered one from Supplyhouse. It arrived quickly, I installed it, and the problem was solved. The water heater works perfectly now!

Perfect Replacement
