Lasts longer and much better than little A/C Tablets, IMO
I only need one PurCool strip for my six Central Florida hotter months from about May 1 to October 31. During my cooler six Central Florida months (about November 1 to April 30), I use a funnel monthly, to pour a cup of vinegar down the drain pipe "cleanout" opening. A few pieces of the strip may still remain after six months. I remove and throw out the little pieces with a vinyl/waterproof gloved hand (or a plastic spoon or an old/scratched/ugly metal spoon).

I just checked mine and it was already dissolved after 2 months (I have a 3 ton unit).
