I Have Used These On Several Water Heaters

I Have Used These On Several Water Heaters, And They Work Great As Long As You Change Them At The Frequency That Nuvo Recommends, They Recommend Changing These Every 6 Months No Matter What The Person That Reviewed This Below Me Says About The Construction Of The Filter Sediment Filters Reduce Sediment Particles They Do Not Remove Water Hardness, These Help Remove Scale, You Can Write Several Paragraphs About Not Liking Something And Know Nothing About The Product, Also After Reading The Review It Doesn't Sound Like The Filter Was Changed In The Proper Frequency.

Absolutely a giant waste of your money

Purchased my Takagi 199k btu tankless from supply House. It's been up and running for over 14 months now. Absolutely love it. Great price and support from Supply house. HOWEVER! NuVoH2O filter is a complete joke and waste of money. See photo Bought this after installing my Takagi tankless 199,000 btu water heater. It's marketed as being the "must have" filter to remove and reduce scale in your tap before water enters your tankless. Also states this filter helps prolong the life of your tankless water heater. It's a giant lie in my opinion. This filter was used for approximately 14 months in a house of 4 people: three bathrooms, kitchen, etc. After replacing with a brand new filter I decided to cut this thing open to see what all it had "filtered." Needless to say I was disappointed on what I found. I had assumed it would be what you normally see in a water filter, thick media type material to capture anything running thru my pipes. NOPE! It's essentially a sock inside the filter. Even more irritating is that after I cut it open I noticed the filter wasn't even attached to the water inlet nipple. Hard to see in photo, but there was also some kind of mildew/mold stuck inside the filter. For as expensive this filter is I was hoping to see some significant filter media, in addition, I hoped to see a lot of debris/scale that had been caught over the last 14 months. I did not see any kind of scale build up at all. Nada. NOTHING. In my opinion do not buy this. Stick with your typical whole house sediment filter and you'll be just fine.
