PF-80 - 64,000 BTU Output PUREFIRE High Efficiency Residential Boiler (Nat Gas)

I am a HVAC tech for over 40 years an have installed many Peerless Pure Fire Boilers. I consider them more reliable and very easy to trouble shoot and fix if needed. I have a PF 80 in my house and all i do for maintenance is clean the ignighter and flame sensor. I also re fill the neutralizer tank as needed. These boilers will give you no trouble if installed and piped properly. Peerless also has not changed this boiler in over 10 years so parts are not an issue if needed. The control board will give a fault code that will tell you exactly what is wrong if the boiler should break down. Great boiler and 95% efficiency with full modulating gas valve. Have the boiler installed by a professional as it is not a DIY project.

The only great thing about these boilers is that they are 94 to 95 percent efficient, but the list of problems and things that go wrong is way too much to mention, my unit was only four years old when the control board went, power outage took it out. The technician tried to order a replacement board, and he said they are no longer supported, and that they do have a replacement system which would have been half the cost of a new boiler system. So, I decided instead of putting that type of money into a four-year-old unit, to just replace the boiler with another one from a different company.

I am confused by anyone saying that the tech support is not up to par. Tom F is the best tech support man that I have ever had in 50 at the trade! If a tradesman says he has a problem with them, chances are that the tech is sub par and looking for an excuse. These are decent units that definitely need to be installed by installers familiar with them.

We have a Peerless PF-110 which was installed a little over 11 years ago. The unit has had one problem after another (heat exchanger, control board, multiple smaller items, too many service calls to count) and I've spent at least 50% of the cost of a new unit over the last 5 years. My real issue with the unit is how unhelpful Peerless support has been. My installer has retired, and I live in a rural area. My new HVAC person just cannot get reliable and useful answers from the company to assist with troubleshooting. This is not complicated stuff. The job of this unit is to heat water using a fuel source. After going through multiple periods of no heat and no hot water over the past year, we're throwing in the towel and getting quotes for a new boiler from a different manufacturer. In my experience, this company does not provide adequate support for their products when there are issues. There are so many barriers to getting help and information that it seems intentional. I would encourage others to look elsewhere as we are doing.

Very pleased with new unit, installed correctly and working well. Old one was not installed correctly, before I bought the house. Decided to purchase same unit to replace it. Very easy to install and setup.

Installed 12 days ago. The boiler runs quiet. New pumps and thermostats are not installed yet.
