This is a strong well made pad, easy to install

The pad is well made and easy to position for one person on their own without the need for heavy lifting gear. Leveling on your generator base is important to do well before installing. If you use the optional ground anchor screw, as I did for greater wind resistance, you will likely need to use a percussion torque wrench, to apply the simultaneous turning force & downwards pressure for the ground anchor to penetrate rocky (schist/shale) soil. A manual bar and socket wrench could not apply enough downwards force at the same time as turning the anchor screw. In less rocky soil a manual bar might be enough. Recheck your pad level after you are done, mine had moved a bit, so your readjust the base then retighten the anchor screw. I used some caulk to seal the center plastic plug that sits over the anchor point before placing the generator onto the QwikPad. There was a slight camber on the pad which was flattened out with the center screw being installed, helping the pad to be level for the generator. The brass anchor points in the QwikPad, lined up well with the mounting holes in the Briggs & Stratton Steel 20kW generator (model #040587) but I did need to slightly file down the heavy duty plastic molding around the tops of the threaded anchor points, so the supplied screws could thread correctly. That and a very slight filing of one generator skirt metal eyelet, through which one screw threaded. The fourth eyelet was a fraction off, so a couple of millimeters of filing did the trick. The issue could have been on the generator skirt having been deformed slightly. There was no way to tell if the pad mounting screw position or generator skirt were off their measurements. It really wasn't a big problem. The skirt of the generator sits tight and flat upon the pad to avoid water penetration, with a flared flange. Overall this appears to be a good pad, time will tell.
