RL-SP33T 115V, 1/3 HP, 3200 GPH Sump Pump w/ Tethered Switch and 8 ft. Cord (Red)

The longer span from top to bottom was a feature of this pump that I like. My old pump ran too frequently. A challenge I faced was that the tether floats opposite my old pump so if I want to make certain the tether does not catch on the sidewall of my sump I had to modify my pvc from the pump to the check valve. This pump comes with a feature where you can manually set the pump to on from the outlet. I presume this corrects a stuck tether or maybe a situation where the water level is too low but you still need to operate the pump. To do this they run two power cords, not one, to the outlet. The second power cord is a bit cumbersome in that it wants to get in the way. It piggybacks on cord 1 to use the single outlet code requires. I had to strap it to the pvc so it did not get in the way of the tether. The feature is worth it. What's strange is to use the feature you have to unplug both cords, and then plug in only cord 2. Turn it off by unplugging. If I were engineering this I would have put the wiring in a single cord and included an on/off switch at the outlet end. The pump runs quietly as a plus.
