Wrong gasket in kit
The kit arrived in good shape and the repair procedure progressed to step 12 when it was discovered the wrong gasket (1of 3) which was needed in this step was on this kit. SH asked me to send photos of old and new gaskets. Did so! Then contacted GE as seller of water heater and Rheem , the manufacturer. Both confirmed the correct repair kit but the wrong gasket within the kit. SH came back with the message then gasket was back ordered and I would be advised when they were back in stock.
I called our daughter in Texas and she found the correct kit with correct gasket at her HD. She flew out to our house and the repair was made and VIOLA we had hot water again after having to heat same on the range. Good service from SH but incorrect gasket in kit by Rheem. Now I need a RMA from SH.
