Could be better
I've now replaced two of these on a customers high eff Rheem heat pump water heater. If connected directly to copper piping they last about 2 years before the threads are eaten back so far that they begin to leak. While they are designed as a dielectric connection with the water tank they need to be adapted to the household piping either with brass connectors or another "sacrificial" dielectric coupling that can also be replaced. Sadly this is the only option with the Rheem tanks.
