Careful with the Pipe Fitting
I tried installing the flow control assembly as-is and found that the female water fitting is hundredths of an inch smaller than the pipe in the water heater. I had to disassemble the new assembly and use those parts on the old assembly. Individual parts work fine and water heater functionality has been restored.
