Missing port, had to improvise
Can't believe this was missing a thermistor port. I had to remove the old unit's section of copper with the port. Then hack apart the brand new exchanger to solder on the port. Unbelievable, and unacceptable. On a scheduled job, to perform an exchange, and this specific detail was not obvious until side by side the old unit. Now the customer can either go with out hot water, put in the old one but was somewhat damaged on removal, or take matters into our own hands and get the customer hot water again. I probably voided any warranty but on such an old unit, guess it is w3hat it is.....
