Fingers crossed
There was a manufacturing defect in the original part on the boiler. The Rinnai replacement part supplied by SupplyHouse has been installed and it appears to be working. Kudos to SupplyHouse for getting the part even it we had to wait nearly two months for delivery from Rinnai. If you do this job, you must find a young, energetic, smart plumber who is capable of challenging jobs. Otherwise, replacement of this part is ridiculous and you should do a chop and swap. It was a brutal three hour job for two guys who were simply fantastic in their expertise and efforts.
